Attack at Benghazi: Reason Enough for Change
Here’s what I learned today from conservative blogger Bob Owens in an update to his post about the Attack at Benghazi:
“The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.”
WTF? Day by day, as more details come out, it just keeps getting worse. As I watched the computer re-creation of the Benghazi attack timeline and listened to the play by play on Fox, I just broke down. What was everybody thinking in Benghazi – Ambassador Stevens and Sean Smith as they tried to escape a smoke-filled consulate and Ty Woods and his security team at the CIA annex who finally broke orders and went to the consulate anyway after receiving not one but three “stand down” orders? He and Glen Doherty didn’t die until hours later – after they had evacuated the consulate and brought the body of Smith back to the annex. Between the time of their return to the annex and their time of death from mortar fire, they begged for military support. Nothing. Eventually, Libyan looters – looters – dragged Ambassador Stevens, who was still alive, out of the smoke-filled building and rushed him to a hospital where doctors tried desperately to save him but failed.
For seven hours total, the gunfire raged – first at the consulate and then at the annex. Seven hours! According to all reports, an AC-130 and/or an F16 could have been within striking distance within the first 1 – 2 hours and well within the timeline to save all four men. Yet, the hours passed and no relief. Nothing – and many requests denied. This fact and the revelation that Obama and his top dogs were able to watch in real time a live, slow-motion Drone feed of the compound and the massacre itself. My God…if this isn’t enough of a reason to make a change on election day, I don’t know what is.
We all need to be thinking about what those four Americans were thinking when no one came. If we ever want to feel safe anywhere in this world, change must happen.
Obama, Alinsky, Lucifer, & the Looming Election
Four years ago, when Obama was first elected, I threw myself deep into the underbelly of his past, digging and researching and gasping and the things that I found made the hair go up on the back of my neck. Take a good look at the pre-2008 election picture [...] Continue Reading…
The Middle East: 40-yrs Later, the Root of the Evil is Still an Extremist Ideology
In October of 1973 – just shy of 40 years ago to the day – my father wrote the editorial below in response to a letter to the editor. Why he wrote the editorial isn’t as important as what he wrote because here we are, 40 years later, and the proof is in the pudding. His words are as relevant today as they were then…….you can not change, negotiate, work with an extremist ideology bent on the destruction of a race, of a people……and this ideology did not die with Bin Laden. Obama/Biden – Managing Down Our Presidential Expectations
My worries over who would win the Vice Presidential debate last between VP Joe Biden and candidate Paul Ryan were squashed within the first ten minutes or so as Crazy Joe let it be known – loud and clear – exactly what he thought of not only his opponent but of the issues at hand. Simply put, he thought everything was either hilarious or ridiculous and his reaction on both counts was unnerving at best. I thought, “What ever happened to being “presidential”?” And then something dawned on me.. [...] Continue Reading…
